The conference will be a forum for discussion and debate around professionalism in healthcare, with themes around how professionalism is learnt, taught and assessed. The conference will be of interest to senior decision makers, front line clinicians and students from accross all healthcare professions.

The exciting programme will contain a mixture of short plenaries, interactive workshops and oral/poster abstract presentations.

Dr Scott Oliver

Dr Scott Oliver BSc(Hons) MBChB MRCP(Neph) PGCert (Health Prof Educ) PHD is a Consultant Nephrologist and Clinical Lead Trainer in NHS Lanarkshire, and has Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer status at the University of Glasgow. His research interests include complex clinical systems (the subject of his PhD thesis) and professionalism.

Dr Kathleen Colins

Dr Kathleen Collins (MBChB, MRCPCH) is a Specialty Doctor in Paediatrics and Clinical Lead Trainer in NHS Lanarkshire. She has an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer status at the University of Glasgow and Honorary Clinical Lecturer status at the University of Edinburgh. Her research and teaching interests include professionalism and inter-professional and in-situ simulation.

Catherine Paton

Catie Paton, Associate Director Medical Education, Clinical Skills Nurse Consultant BA Health RN, RNT, PG Cert Professional Education, Msc Human Factors Science Honorary senior clinical lecturer University of Glasgow. My role is promoting a culture of patient safety in the development of clinical skills technical and non technical, utilising a facilitative collaborative professional approach. Inspiring, enabling and empowering medical and NMAHP faculty to generate new ways of working that will contribute to a state of the art clinical simulation, skills and resuscitation service. I promote this by utilising my extensive experience as a nurse, a fellow of the higher education academy and a facilitator of Human factors Science. The training developed and delivered at the Medical Education Training Centre covers all levels of staff from students, from Undergraduates to Consultants. My research interests are inter-professional learning.
