Thank you Doctors for sharing such a wonderful training exercise for learners in the workplace-I am wondering if this can also be translated to practicing physicians themselves who often witness colleagues unprofessional behaviours? I was wondering if there were systems in place to support the D’s of active bystander- namely documenting and reporting mechanisms without fear of repercussions?

Hi Jinelle,
Thank you for your comment. This work can definitely be translated to practising health professionals.
The systems to protect and validate good practice should be put in place by the clinical/educational area. Examples of this are anonymous feedback and 360 reviews. Plus direct support should be available for those who are the subject of unprofessional practices.
