Dr Lysa Owen
Senior Clinical Lecturer, Ulster University School of Medicine
Dr Lysa Owen MBChB, MRCEM, Ed D, SFHEA is Senior Clinical Lecturer in the School of Medicine at Ulster University and lead for Clinical and communication skills, OSCE lead and Penultimate year (P-Year) lead. She has worked in medical education at the Universities of Dundee and St Andrews since 2005, including ScotGEM- Scotland’s first graduate entry medical degree. Her clinical background was in emergency medicine, and falls interventions for the elderly.
Her areas of research interest include barriers to engagement in simulation based learning and motivation for learning. She completed a Doctorate in Education in 2017. In her spare time Lysa enjoys baking and exploring the Causeway and Donegal Coasts, with an occasional sea dip.
